I\'m not sure what all the negative reviews are about concerning the device popping out of the cradle. If that\'s the case, then the user obviously did not install is correctly. There\'s no way mine is popping out. The cradle secures the device very well. It\'s even hard to get it off until you get the hang of it. Or maybe Garmin has redesigned the cradle. But there\'s no danger whatsoever of the device popping out.
It\'s very convenient and easily switches back and forth. I used it today for a bike ride and then popped it off and put it on my wrist for the run. The velcro strap is also a big improvement over the plastic wrist strap that comes with the 305. Rating:  - Beware of your 305 working itself loose when using the Quick Release!!

Not a bad idea to have the 305 transition quickly between the bike and run split but be very very cautious of the 305 working itself loose and falling off. I experienced this with catastrophic results. It appears that when the unit is subjected to jarring vibrations like riding over a cattle grid or similar intense vibration surface, the 305 will work itself loose from the Quick release. In my case the unit fell off while clocking about 35mph and suffered a broken screen a cracked casing to the extent that I could see the printed circuit board inside the unit, needless to say my Garmin is totally useless now. All of this happened on the second ride I was using my new toy!!!
I have written Garmin and sent the unit back as evidence but have not yet heard back from them. It appears that this problem is quite common if you read the reviews (something I wish I had done prior to purchasing the quick release)
BTW - The 305 is a fantastic training tool and highly recommend the product, just be wary about the Quick Release!!!

I bought a quick release kit for both my road and tri bike. Both were easy to install and now I use my Garmin 305 for all my cycling and running training. Totally worth it! Rating: - Simple and easy to use

I jump from running to biking a lot and saw no point in having a speedo for my bike and wrist. this quick release kit makes it super easy to go back and forth between sports and I like the velcro wrist band better than the one that comes with the Forerunner. Rating: - Excellent accessory for the Forerunner 305
